Coverage beyond OEM end-of-life: Cisco WS-2960 switches remain reliable in the field long after Cisco has retired the platform. TeamKCI offers full Cisco hardware support for the 2960 family, including 2960S and 2960X variants, so you can keep these switches in production without SmartNet renewal costs on hardware the OEM no longer prioritizes.
Cisco 2960 Third-Party Maintenance
Extend the life of your Cisco Catalyst 2960 fleet with Third-Party Maintenance built for organizations running equipment beyond the manufacturer’s coverage window. Cisco announced End-of-Life in October 2013, ended sales in October 2014, and stopped support entirely on October 31, 2019 — TeamKCI keeps every 2960 variant production-ready through 2026 and beyond. Our post-warranty support covers the full Catalyst 2960 family (2960, 2960G, 2960-S, 2960-Plus, 2960-C, 2960-L, 2960-X, 2960-XR) with fast hardware replacement, OEM-quality parts stocked for overnight shipment, onsite spare inventory at no additional cost, and a 15-minute qualified engineer callback backed by SLA — at up to 90% less than Cisco Smart Net. No forced refresh, no renewal tricks, no OEM premium.
Migration paths and modern features we’ll help you avoid — until you’re ready. Cisco will pitch you these platforms and capabilities as reasons to refresh. TeamKCI keeps your existing 2960 running so migration happens on your timeline, not Cisco’s.
Cisco published the End-of-Life announcement in October 2013, ended sales in October 2014, and reached Last Date of Support on October 31, 2019. After LDoS, Cisco no longer offers TAC, RMA, or software updates for the WS-2960 platform. TeamKCI picks up exactly where Cisco left off, with third-party maintenance available through 2026 and beyond for as long as you choose to run the hardware.
Cisco’s recommended replacements are the Catalyst 9200/9200L for enterprise access and the Catalyst 1300 Series for SMB and edge. Both require a full refresh cycle, new IOS XE training, and OEM-priced licensing. TeamKCI’s alternative: keep the 2960 you already own on a post-warranty support contract at up to 90% less than a Smart Net renewal, and migrate on your own timeline.
Cisco stopped releasing IOS bug fixes at End of Software Maintenance and ended security patches at End of Vulnerability Support — both years before LDoS. Every CVE published since is unpatched on the platform. Software gaps are inherent to any EOL product; TeamKCI covers the hardware, parts, and engineering side of the equation so aging gear stays production-ready without OEM software support.
Three categories: unpatched CVEs since Cisco ended vulnerability support, incompatibility with modern security standards like TrustSec and MACsec, and audit findings under PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and ISA/IEC 62443 that flag unsupported network gear as a control gap. A documented TeamKCI maintenance contract closes the compliance-documentation finding and secures your hardware supply chain.
Smart Net renewal is no longer available for the WS-2960 (LDoS was October 31, 2019). For 2960-family variants still in Cisco’s window, TeamKCI’s equivalent SLA is typically up to 90% less than Smart Net Total Care, with faster engineer callback (15 minutes vs. tiered queue), onsite spare inventory at no extra charge, and flexible contracts with no forced refresh cycle.
